Campbell Speaks to Jr Bass Club

Recently, I spoke to the Springfield Junior Bass Club during one of their meetings.  I talked to them about fishing as a career, and what it has been like to fish on the BASS Elite Series, competing against some of the sport’s biggest names.  I also took the kids through a bass’ yearly migration from spring to winter, teaching them to pay attention to things like temperature, wind, water color and forage types.  Instead of just preaching to the kids, I shot questions at them that made them think about what a bass would be doing given a certain set of conditions.  I got some really good answers and kept their attention better than a simple lecture would have.  All in all it was a great time and a fun way to interact with the sport’s next generation.

Campbell talks on KMMO

In early January, I was a guest on In the Outdoors with Brad and Brian on KMMO radio.  I spoke with the guys about my take on the 2008 season, and what I had learned along the way.  They also were interested in my thoughts on the Classic, and the new format for the Elite Series in 2009.  The removal of co-anglers, and the addition of BASS Marshalls was a big point of discussion.  This interview was the latest in dozens that I have had with Brad and Brian since qualifying for the Elites in 2007.
